I’ve always had a passion to share delicious fusion food with the world, but this desire became stronger when I had my three children and understood how difficult it is to juggle family life with work and still cooking amazing, nutritious food. I wanted to find a balance and then help others in the same situation to do the same.
Our world is getting smaller. As cultures start to collide so are flavours and food. This makes the world a better place and creates endless opportunities when it comes to food. With a mixed heritage of British, Singaporean and Punjabi roots, I’ve spent my life combining flavours from a variety of backgrounds to create something special.
I love seeing the genuine joy and happiness on the faces of those who I feed or teach, they really enjoy the food we create, so you could say, I’m already living out my dream. However, the next step is for Bohut Tasty is to help make a difference in the lives of young people, build networks for women from all walks of life and spread some love and light.
I recently visited Cakes and Bubbles by Albert Adria, one of the most renowned pastry chefs in the world. It’s in the Café Royal on Regent Street and the cakes were simply incredible. Definitely my current favourite.
My Thermomix is a my go-to, especially when I’m short on time. It’s perfect for creating simple sauces, soups and even meal prepping, which I talk about in my cookery classes.
I’ve come up with a Thai Indian Fusion Baked Curry recipe, and I can’t get enough of it! The slow cooking means the chicken simply falls off the bone and it sings with flavours from spices such as kaffir lime, chillies and lemongrass.
I love filo pastry, it’s so versatile. I recently used it to create a Spiced Chicken and Vegetable Filo Pie, which is served with garlic potatoes, grown in my parents’ garden. Delicious!
